Current Projects

This ongoing visual storytelling project follows Sekou Sheriff, a young man who arrived in New York alone from Liberia as an unaccompanied minor and is now building a life as a college student, soccer player, and youth coach in the South Bronx. Anchored in his story, the project expands to examine how unaccompanied immigrant youth navigate education, immigration systems, and early adulthood without family support. Set against an increasingly volatile political climate in the United States, where longstanding legal protections for immigrant children are being challenged, the reporting combines immersive, day-in-the-life documentation with interviews from legal advocates, community leaders, and organizations on the frontlines. From local programs like South Bronx United to national groups such as the National Immigration Law Center and Public Counsel, these perspectives situate personal stories within a shifting legal landscape, exploring how policy, community infrastructure, and individual resilience intersect in the lives of young people arriving in the United States alone.

Past Projects

In collaboration with South Bronx United, I documented the stories of young people navigating opportunity gaps in the South Bronx. Through their Workforce Development Program and Clubhouse Café - a social enterprise offering real-world job training - the project highlights how community-driven initiatives are creating pathways into employment and empowerment.
